Job summary

CIANBRO in Machias, ME, is seeking a skilled structural installer to safely position and unite steel girders and columns to form completed structures. You will read blueprints and set up hoisting equipment for placing members, coordinating with crane operations and hand signals to ensure safe, accurate installation.

The role requires 3+ years of layout/rigging experience, ability to work at heights, and reading plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience with layout, connecting, and rigging.

• Prior rigging experience including hand signals and inspection.
• NCCER certification is a plus.

Job description

The wage range for this position is $28 to $36 per hour. Compensation will be determined based on knowledge and experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Safely position and unite steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures or structural frameworks.
• Read specifications and blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Set up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members.
• Hoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place using cranes, using hand signals, and tag lines.
• Verify alignment and plumbing of steel structures and make corrections to erected structures as needed.
• Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts following blueprints using various bolts, nuts, washers, and torquing.
  
  

Qualifications/Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience with layout, connecting, and rigging.
• The ability to work at all heights is a must.
• Ability to read blueprints, interpret symbols and abbreviations on plans and drawings.
• Prior rigging experience to include knowledge of hand signals, rigging gear, inspection, and proper use.
