Ironworker (Houston, TX) - Austin Industrial (TPC Capital)

Austin Industrial is currently seeking a Ironworker to join our staff located at Houston, TX. The Ironworker must be able to raise, place, and unite girders, columns, and other structural steel members to form completed structures or frameworks. This role involves performing the following essential duties, with other duties assigned as needed.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read blueprints and select required materials for construction.
• Set up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members.
• Fasten steel members to the cable of hoist using chain, cable, or rope.
• Guide the structure being lifted into the proper position and align rivet holes with corresponding holes.
• Drive drift pins through rivet holes.
• Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials and workpieces during installation.
• Verify vertical and horizontal alignment using plumb bob and level. Bolt aligned members to keep them in position until permanently bolted or welded.
• Bolt aligned structures to keep them in position until permanently riveted, bolted, or welded into place.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 4 years of Journeyman-level experience.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Valid TWIC card & PIN #
• Meet physical demands listed above
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
