Ironworker Foreman/Leaderman - Gulf Marine Repair

Gulf Marine Repair has immediate openings for Ironworker Foreman/Leadman. Successful candidates will lead a crew of skilled trade personnel in the fabrication and/or repair of commercial vessels and ships.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Three (3) years of shipyard experience
• Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card

• Oversee the work of fitters, welders, tackers, and helpers
• Work with the job Superintendent to establish manpower requirements
• Establish job assignment priorities with the Production Manager
• Provide employees with job assignments
• Monitor production to ensure quality, scheduling, and cost objectives are met

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in the shipyard or a similar industry
• Computer literacy
• Ability to understand and follow all Safety and Corporate Rules, Regulations, and Policies
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Good attendance record
• Working knowledge of:
• ABS Rules & Regulations
• USCG Rules & Regulations
• AWS Welding Rules
• ASTM/ASME codes

Work Environment

Outdoor work in confined spaces, in the elements, aboard shipyard vessels, in the shop, and travel to local ports via company truck.
