PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The AV Technician I installs and maintains audio visual equipment. This includes all AV Solutions such as: Control System Automation, Room Monitoring Systems, Live Event Production, Lecture Capture, Digital Signage, Digital Sound Processing, Live Streaming and Video Conferencing/ Unified Communications.

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

• AV Phone Support: Provide Tier 1 Help Desk support for Audio Video/ IT-related calls. Document issues in a ticketing database and help develop knowledge bases for known issues and resolutions.
• AV Troubleshooting: Provide Tier 1-level real-time troubleshooting and resolution of AV issues in support of technology in classrooms, conference rooms, event spaces and lobbies. Advise instructors about operation of classroom equipment.
• Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain AV infrastructure including cabling/ termination and support of AV equipment such as projector maintenance, audio troubleshooting and inventory audits. Performs monthly room checks and periodic full system checks.
• AV Events: Operate equipment to enhance effects of sound and display at live events. Provide logistical support and customer support hospitality assistance for special events when needed.
• Participate in professional development activities as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and relevant certification, OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1-year relevant work experience, OR Bachelor's degree.
