Job summary

Nabors is seeking an IRCS Technician III to deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot automated tubular handling systems on drilling rigs. The role focuses on safe, efficient movement of drill pipe and casing using robotic technologies, reducing manual handling and enhancing rig safety.

Work onshore and offshore rigs with exposure to extreme conditions; collaborate with automation engineers to keep systems performing at peak levels and ensure HSE standards are met.

Qualifications

  • Experience deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting automated tubular handling systems.
  • Familiarity with safety training and certifications is preferred.
  • Ability to interface with rig crews and automation engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Support robotic pipe handling system operations during installation, commissioning, rig-up, drilling, and rig-down.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on robotic equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues in real-time.
  • Interface with rig crews and automation engineers to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Monitor system diagnostics and telemetry for anomalies and performance metrics.
  • Document maintenance activities and incident reports.
  • Train rig personnel on robotic system operation and safety protocols.
