Job summary

The University of Texas at El Paso is seeking an IRB Compliance Specialist to support the Office of Research Compliance. You will manage administrative duties for the IRB, perform pre-reviews, and coordinate communications with investigators to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate record-keeping.

Under supervision, you will assist with training, prepare meeting materials, track protocol submissions, and help improve processes.

Qualifications

• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical pre-review of incoming IRB protocols for preliminary determination of completeness and regulatory compliance.
• Advise, assist, and provide education to investigators regarding submitting new protocols, amendments, requests for continuance and closing reports.
• Coordinate and relay review-related correspondence to investigators, including reviewer comments and IRB determinations.
• Record meeting minutes and facilitate their approval.
• Review and update internal SOPs and IRB website as needed.
