Job summary

Tulane University seeks a regulatory compliance professional to ensure human subjects research meets all regulatory and ethical standards. You will provide expert consultation to researchers and the IRB, oversee training programs, and monitor post-approval activities to prevent non-compliance.

You will coordinate with HRPO personnel and other boards, deliver education, review reportable events, and support policy development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and three years of human subjects clinical research experience, including regulatory work.
• OR a High School Diploma with nine years of human subjects clinical research experience, including regulatory work.
• Within two years of hire, must attain CIP or CHRC certification.
• Preferred: JD or advanced degree, or combining Bachelor’s Degree with three to five years in regulatory research.

Responsibilities

• Ability to effectively research and interpret regulations (federal, state, local, and international), institutional policies, and accrediting body standards applicable to research.
• Working knowledge of various standard word processing and database software; MS Word, PowerPoint, Access, and other windows-based applications.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate articulately with researchers, senior administration, regulators, and sponsors.
• Ability to meet deadlines and make decisions independently.
• Ability to assist and provide guidance to co-workers.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize.
• Maintain confidentiality in all work performed.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Travel as needed.
