Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated seeks a Cleanroom Technician to assemble, inspect, and test infrared camera systems in a controlled cleanroom environment. This second shift role runs 2:00 PM–11:30 PM, with initial training on day shifts.

You will follow precise instructions, use microscopes and metrology tools, and uphold strict ESD and cleanliness standards. Applicants should have a high school diploma, 1–3+ years in cleanroom or optical assembly, and strong data entry skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred
• 1–3+ years of experience in cleanroom assembly, electronics manufacturing, or optical/mechanical assembly
• Experience working with small components and precision tools (tweezers, torque drivers, microscopes)
• Familiarity with electrostatic discharge (ESD) and contamination control practices
• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and specifications
• Basic computer skills for data entry and manufacturing systems
• Must be able to push, pull, or lift up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to use a microscope up to 8 hours a day

Responsibilities

• Perform precision assembly of infrared camera components, including optics, sensors, and mechanical housings
• Execute functional and environmental testing of IR camera systems per defined procedures
• Inspect components and finished assemblies using microscopes and metrology tools to ensure quality standards are met
• Follow detailed work instructions, travelers, and engineering documentation with high accuracy
• Maintain strict adherence to cleanroom protocols (gowning, contamination control, ESD handling)
• Record production data, test results, and non-conformances accurately in manufacturing systems (e.g., Camstar or equivalent)
• Identify defects or process deviations and elevate issues to engineering or supervisory staff
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to yield, throughput, and quality
• Assist with equipment setup, calibration checks, and routine maintenance
