Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated in Goleta, California is seeking a Production Test Technician to lead precision assembly and testing of infrared camera components in a controlled cleanroom environment. You will follow strict process controls and detailed work instructions to ensure high quality outputs.

This is a second shift role (2:00 PM–11:30 PM, Monday–Friday). Training on first shift may be required for an initial period of time before transitioning to the second shift.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; technical cert or associate degree preferred.
• 1–3+ years in cleanroom, electronics, or optical/mechanical assembly.
• Experience with small components and precision tools (tweezers, torque tools, microscopes).
• Familiarity with ESD and contamination control practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision assembly of infrared camera components, including optics and sensors.
• Execute functional and environmental testing of IR camera systems per procedures.
• Inspect components and assemblies using microscopes and metrology tools to ensure quality.
• Follow strict work instructions, travelers, and engineering docs with accuracy.
• Maintain cleanroom protocols (gowning, contamination control, ESD).
• Record production data, test results, and non-conformances in manufacturing systems (Camstar or equivalent).
• Identify defects or deviations and escalate to engineering or supervision.
• Support continuous improvement for yield, throughput, and quality.
• Assist with equipment setup, calibration checks, and routine maintenance.
