Job summary

Responsibilities

• Deliver community-based outreach and treatment services in various settings.
• Lead weekly clinical team meetings.
• Supervise assigned staff and interns.
• Maintain program documentation and ensure fidelity to IPV-FAIR model.

PROGRAM: Intimate Partner Violence - Family Assessment and Intervention Service

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The IPV-FAIR Leader is responsible for direct services with adult care givers and their children who have been referred by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) for issues related to intimate partner violence. Direct services include, but not limited to evaluation/assessment; home & community based services; outreach; case and care management; family therapies; record keeping; collaboration with other professionals, team members and related community services (including consultation and/or community and/or school placements); and program management/supervision. The IPV-FAIR Team Leader is responsible for the supervision, development and implementation of the IPV-FAIR program, services and staff.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• To provide comprehensive evaluations, treatment plans and treatment of adolescents and their families. This includes evaluation/assessment; home and community-based services; outreach; case and care management; and family therapies
• To develop/implement treatment plans that may include psychotherapy and clinically required support services including but not limited to translation, transportation (only as per agency policy) advocacy and linkage to other needed services
• To provide community-based outreach and treatment services as defined by the treatment plan and/or client need, in a variety of settings including but not limited to agency offices sites, client homes, schools, shelters, police stations, etc.
• Leads weekly clinical team meetings
• Maintain contact and provide follow-up with families requiring this service. This will include daily home visits and home-based therapies
• Maintain confidential and/or any other required program documents
• Maintain a level of productivity and assure IPV-FAIR staff maintain a level of productivity as determined by the Executive Director and assigned by the program supervisor
• To supervise assigned staff and/or interns
• To assist in the day to day clinical and administrative management of the IPV-FAIR program
• To assist in program development, grant writing, marketing and community outreach
• To work collaboratively as a member of a team with other professionals and concerned parties involved in cases
• To assist in the organization, marketing, planning and implementation of the program.
• Actively participate in internal trainings and staff meetings
• To assure fidelity to IPV-FAIR model of program staff
• To serve on agency and/or community committees
• Actively participate in supervision and report directly to the supervisor
• Other such duties as assigned by the Supervisor

QualificationsREQUIREMENTS

• Commitment to the IPV-FAIR model
• Graduate degree in human services or related field and at least 2 years working with children and families exposed to IPV (Ph.D. or Master’s degree in clinical or counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related subject area)
• Valid CT License in Clinical field (Licensed Psychologist, LCSW, LMFT, LPC)
• Ability to work with diverse individuals
• Ability to exercise discretion and maintain client and employee confidentiality
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Valid CT driver’s license, reliable transportation, and travel
• Automobile liability insurance that meets minimum agency requirements
• Valid CT License in Clinical field (Licensed Psychologist, LCSW, LMFT, LPC)
• Familiarity with Word, e-mail and Internet. Familiarity with Excel preferred
• No history of DUI violations

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

• Requires working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Work is performed in an office environment, the community and client homes
• Requires extensive travel to client homes and throughout the community
• Involves exposure to tobacco smoke, domestic animals, household pests, and other conditions common to domestic environments
• Frequent contact with staff and non-staff (e.g., client families, referents, staff from other community agencies)
