Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Specialist level 2/3 to support on-site at our Rocket Center, WV location. No remote work opportunities will be available for this position.

The Supply Chain Planning Specialist will have program responsibility to manage subcontracts, materials and services, lead the IPT, and direct functional organizations to meet cost, schedule and quality goals while managing risks and opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years in supply chain, planning, or a closely related field
• Master's degree with 0+ years of experience
• 6 Years of direct experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in supply chain, planning, or a closely related field
• Master's degree with 3+ years of experience
• 9 Years of direct experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Experience with Costpoint or similar ERP system; MS Office (Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint) required; ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Convey to the Program Manager and IPT a full understanding of materials acquisition and subcontractor requirements and plan.
• Lead the IPT and direct functional orgs to achieve material-related program objectives (cost, schedule, quality).
• Ensure program budget, materials availability, and quality objectives are met by directing activities of IPT members, Procurement Team and external suppliers.
• Develop and communicate material acquisition and subcontractor management objectives and strategies.
• Manage the Make/Buy process and material risks and obsolescence.
• Track and communicate performance against program financial objectives.
• Identify and communicate deficiencies and deviations from plan and manage corrective actions.
• Represent SCM to customers, Program Management and NG Management; support audits.
• Manage material-related proposal activity including line-loss and quotation requests.
• Proactively monitor supplier performance.
• Promote safety and lean methods in program planning and implementation.
