Job summary

Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. in Frederick, MD, seeks an experienced scientist to independently culture and differentiate human iPSCs, support organoid- and disease-modeling research, and contribute to the NIH SOM initiative within the LASP program.

You will design complex cell-based assays, perform molecular and cellular analyses, maintain meticulous records, mentor junior staff, ensure biosafety compliance, and collaborate across disciplines to advance preclinical models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 5 years related experience.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture, aseptic technique, and standard lab practices.
• Experience with molecular/cellular biology techniques and maintaining documentation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Independently performing iPSC culture, maintenance, expansion, cryopreservation, and differentiation.
• Designing and optimizing complex cell-based assays and quality control procedures.
• Characterizing iPSC lines and differentiated products using flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry, qPCR, microscopy, etc.
• Maintaining records, analyzing data, and contributing to reports and SOPs.
• Managing lab operations, inventory, and biosafety compliance.
• Training junior personnel in stem cell culture and lab practices.
• Collaborating to develop standardized iPSC- and organoid-based preclinical models.
