Job summary

Shaw Trust seeks an IPS Team Leader to manage up to 10 Employment Specialists, delivering supervision, training and caseload management while modelling the Individual Placement and Support approach within a holistic recovery plan for mental health clients.

The role focuses on leading a high‑quality service that meets fidelity standards and delivers positive outcomes for service users, with home based work and regional travel involved.

Qualifications

  • Degree level or equivalent experience
  • Experience with people with mental health support needs or related health/social services experience
  • Experience in employment services and knowledge of disability and special needs issues, policies and legislation
  • Experience delivering training
  • Ability to model recovery‑focused practice including co‑production
  • Awareness of safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults; Enhanced DBS required

Purpose

The IPS Team Leader will manage a team of up to 10 Employment Specialists employed by Shaw Trust. Providing supervision, training, caseload management, and role modelling of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach, as part of the holistic recovery plan for mental health clients. The IPS Team Leader will provide a pivotal role in managing a high-quality service that meets fidelity standards and delivers positive outcomes for service users.

Essential

You will have:

  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent experience
  • Relevant experience of working with people with mental health support needs, or a similar group within health, social services or the voluntary sector
  • Good understanding of the principles and practice of supported employment Relevant experience working in employment services. Working knowledge of a broad range of occupations and jobs. Knowledge of disability and special needs issues, policies and legislation in relation to employment
  • Experience of delivering training
  • Ability to model recovery focused practice including co-production
  • Be able to display an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults. This post requires a Disclosure and Barring Service Check at an Enhanced level
