Job summary

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) seeks a Pest Control Manager to lead the Safety Environment and Hazard program district-wide. The role coordinates an integrated pest management system, supervises contracted vendors, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local pesticide regulations.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Entomology or related field (or five years IPM experience), Florida Pest Control Operator certification, and strong communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related science or at least five years' IPM experience in structural pest control.
• Florida Certified Pest Control Operator; General Household Pest and Rodent Control (GHP) and Lawn & Ornamental (L&O) categories.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.

Responsibilities

• Manages and evaluates contracted pest control companies.
• Establishes and maintains an inspection program.
• Establishes and maintains a monitoring program using non-toxic products.
• Establishes and maintains a training program on integrated pest management techniques.
• Maintains documentation for Federal, State, and local pesticide regulations.
• Keeps records for pest control work orders and site files.
• Coordinates with EPA and school site administrators and personnel.
• Performs other duties related to administrative responsibilities.
