Job summary

Island Palm Communities, part of WinnCompanies, is seeking a Pest Control Technician to manage and eliminate structural pests and report insecticide applications to ensure safe, pest-free living conditions for residents.

The role requires a state pesticide license and applicator certification, with responsibilities including applying treatments, maintaining records, and ensuring excellent customer service to residents and staff.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of work experience required.
  • State pesticide application license required.
  • Pest Control Applicators certification required.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Must be able to pass respirator fit test.
  • Basic computer skills for web-based systems.
  • Clear written and verbal communication in English.
  • Customer service oriented and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Identify pest problems and apply IPM solutions per plan.
  • Identify, mix, and apply chemicals per product labels and regulations.
  • Record chemical application data electronically or on paper records.
  • Periodically perform inventory to ensure adequate materials.

Position Summary:

Responsible for the management and elimination of structural pests. The technician will properly report application of insecticides used on the project. The purpose of this position is to help ensure safe and pest free-living conditions for our residents.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Identify pest problems and appropriate solution, apply chemical or mechanical devices in accordance with integrated Pest Management practices. Comply with all state, federal and local regulatory agencies. Must maintain all applicable certifications or licenses. Meet all work order response and completion times as defined in management plan.
  2. Responsible for identifying, selecting, mixing, and applying chemicals in accordance with the product label, local, state, and federal regulations.
  3. Responsible for recording chemical application data through electronic database and/or manual record keepoing
  4. Periodically perform inventory control to ensure ample supply of materials is available
Requirements:
  1. High School diploma or GED required
  2. 1 -3 years previous work experience required
  3. State license for Pesticide Application required
  4. Pest Control Applicators certification required
  5. A current driver'slicense in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy
  6. Full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use in varied situations
  7. Must be able to pass respirator fit test, which may include removal of facial hair
  8. Basic familiarity with computers; able to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications
  9. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing
  10. Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with organization staff, clients and visitors
  11. Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner
