Job summary

Apple Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Design Engineer (MDE) for iPhone manufacturing in Cupertino, CA. You will drive development of mechanical manufacturing processes across Apple's supply base, collaborating with Industrial Design, Product Design and suppliers.

You will define processes, lead at manufacturing sites during development and ramp, and use data-driven methods (DOE, SPC) to improve yield and quality.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-time mechanical manufacturing experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
• Strong hands-on mechanical ability and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with cosmetic parts or consumer electronics manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define best-in-class processes to meet Apple design and operational requirements.
• Develop and document processes including parameters, consumables and secondary operation requirements.
• Lead process development and provide leadership at manufacturing sites during development and ramp.
• Use data to drive process decisions, DOEs, SPC, etc.
