Job summary

Orrick is seeking talented and motivated associates with 2 to 4 years of solid experience in AI, copyright, trademark, trade secret and/or false advertising law to join our intellectual property/technology litigation practice in San Francisco.

Orrick defends leading brands and cutting-edge technology companies in high‑profile cases, handling litigation across federal and state courts, the ITC, TTAB, CFAA issues, and data‑collection disputes, with strong training and mentoring in a collaborative,

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in AI, trademark, copyright, false advertising, and/or trade-secret law including litigation.
• Strong understanding of Lanham Act, Copyright Act, DMCA, and CFAA/state trade-secret statutes.
• Trial experience is preferred.
• Willingness to engage with a broad range of laws and legal principles.
• Highly motivated with excellent academic credentials and superior writing and communication skills.
• Membership in the state in which you are submitting your application is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage IP/tech litigation and enforcement matters in copyright, trademark, trade secret, false advertising, and AI spaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver legal solutions to clients.
• Develop strategy for complex litigation and enforcement actions.
• Counsel clients on legal risks related to product development.
• Conduct legal research and analysis with strong writing skills.
• Manage discovery, including e-discovery with client and vendors.
• Exhibit excellent verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate strong client-facing skills and teamwork.
