Job summary

CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO, seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients in the acute medical setting. You will work across units and contribute to high-quality patient care, education, and teamwork.

The role requires a Master’s in Speech Pathology, at least 5 years of experience, MO licensure (or provisional) and BLS within 90 days of hire; collaboration with pediatric and neonatal teams is common.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology/Communicative Disorders and Sciences is required.
  • At least 5 years' related experience.
  • Missouri state License/Provisional License required; BLS within 90 days.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; ability to work independently.
  • Experience in acute care, ICU or medical-surgical settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients in the acute medical setting.
  • Provide services to patients of all ages as ordered post trauma, surgery, acute medical event or exacerbation.
  • Make recommendations for the next level of care and provide education to patients and families.
  • Participate in specialty teams including pediatric, neonatal care, assistive technology, and endoscopic voice/swallowing assessments.
