Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in children and adults. They will develop or implement treatment plans for problems such as stuttering, delayed language, swallowing disorders, abnormal voice, and social communication disorders.

Education requires a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology/Communicative Disorders and Sciences and a Missouri license.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology/Communicative Disorders and Sciences required.
  • Missouri license or provisional license required; BLS within 90 days of hire.

Job Summary

Speech-language pathologists assess, diagnose, treat, and help to prevent speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in children and adults. They will develop or implement treatment plans for problems that include, but are not limited to, stuttering, delayed language, swallowing disorders, inappropriate pitch or harsh voice problems, and social communication disorders.

Education Requirements
  • Required: Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology/Communicative Disorders and Sciences

  • Preferred: Prior one year hospital/health care related experience

  • Good clinical expertise, human relations skills and organizational skills required.
  • Self-motivated individual who can work independently with little direct supervision required.
  • Has demonstrated interest in professional growth by attendance at continuing education workshops, and applications of new principles and/or techniques.
  • Must have good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • Required: License or Provisional License of Speech Language Pathology active in the state of Missouri.
  • For Provisional Licenses, additional requirements are as follows: Supervision requirements as outlined in Missouri State Statutes must be met. The Board approved national examination must be passed within 12 months of receiving the provisional license.
  • BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
