Management Performance Associates is seeking a Patent Agent for a prominent IP law practice operating in a hybrid model. The role focuses on patent preparation and prosecution in emerging technologies, collaborating with inventors and attorneys to draft robust patent applications.

Ideal candidates have a technical degree and 2+ years of patent experience, with strengths in data science, AI/ML, and related fields, plus strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics
• 2+ years of substantive experience in patent preparation and prosecution
• Experience in data science, machine learning, AI, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, IoT, optics or related fields is advantageous
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and writing skills with attention to technical details

Responsibilities

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology areas
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors
• Perform novelty and clearance searches to delineate inventions from existing technologies
• Draft comprehensive patent applications and negotiate the scope of patent rights with the USPTO
• Prepare reports and support documentation for patent portfolio management

A prominent internationalAmLaw 50law firmis seeking a talented Patent Agentto jointheir Intellectual Property (IP) - Patents Practice.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree orhigher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics with an excellent academic record
• 2+ years of substantive experience in patent preparation and prosecution
• Experience in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, Internet of Things,optics, or related fields is highly advantageous
• Working proficiency in Microsoft Office software
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and writing skills, with an exceptional attention to technical detail and effective organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities
