Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP in Reston, VA seeks a Patent Paralegal I to support attorneys and staff with document prep, proofreading, and research. Two shifts available: 9:00–5:30 or 11:00–7:30, with potential scheduling flexibility for the later shift.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for a Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate. Strong MS Office skills and attention to detail are essential for success in a hybrid Reston office

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist with the preparation of court filings and organization of pleadings, memoranda, discovery and other legal documents.
• Prepare, edit, proofread, and redline documents and correspondence for accuracy, grammar, and formatting.
• Prepare client bills and related forms and arrange for expense advancement, reimbursement, and invoice payments.
• Coordinate travel and meeting logistics, including scheduling, videoconferences, conference calls, and conference rooms; arrange equipment and catering; prepare materials.
• Open new client matters
• Organize and maintain attorney contacts and calendars
• Input, review, edit, and update attorney time entries and print reports
• Ensure all client communications are relayed accurately and timely
• Organize and maintain files in accordance with Firm records retention policies
• Complete training to assist attorneys with monitoring docket and deadlines
• Complete core training and development in IP secretarial areas; progression within first year
• Embrace new processes and technology to meet client demands
• Attend and participate in secretarial and team meetings
• Provide backup for reception if required
• Other duties as assigned.
