Job summary

Indiana University Health seeks an experienced coder for IP and OP coding, with a strong foundation in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and APC assignments. Must reside in Indiana and be able to work a hybrid schedule, with days whose hours may vary.

Responsibilities include reviewing documentation, coding accurately, handling denials, and maintaining high quality and productivity. Desired credentials include RHIT/CCS and Epic/IDX experience.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of 3 years of ICD-9-related experience with CPT coding and APC grouping.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret medical records and other treatment documentation.
• High level of concentration and accuracy in a high-volume environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication with physicians and teams.
• Preferred certifications CPC, CCS, Epic, IDX, 3M, Excel, FinThrive (KnowledgeSource).

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results.
• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure correct APC assignment.
• Resolve pre-bill coding edits and denials.
• Maintain coding quality, productivity, and compliance standards.
• Provide operational support to stay current on workflows and functions.
