This Infection Control Nurse (RN/LPN) is accountable for decreasing the incidence and transmission of infectious diseases between patients, staff, visitors, and the community. Through strategic planning, leadership, and consultation, you will lead and direct a robust team in the identification and implementation of infection prevention goals and objectives throughout the facility.

Infection Control Nurse (RN/LPN) Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement, and evaluate annual infection prevention goals and action plan.
2. Partner with facility leaders, physicians, local, state, and national agencies on activities related to infection prevention.
3. Oversee the operations of the infection prevention, epidemiology, industrial hygiene, and relevant safety programs.
4. Participate in national collaboratives and external reporting to CDC NHSN system, and other post-acute care quality organizations.
5. Ensure appropriate intervention and education occur with staff, volunteers, and medical staff when healthcare infection trends, outbreaks, or non-compliance to infection control occur.

Infection Control Nurse (RN/LPN) Requirements:

1. Promote and facilitate teamwork.
2. Must have a valid RN or LPN license.
3. Demonstrate a high standard of ethics.
4. Knowledge of nursing and medical procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing care facilities.
5. Leadership and supervisory skills.
