Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group is seeking an IP Litigation Paralegal for its Chicago office to support complex intellectual property and commercial litigation matters in a hybrid, full-time role. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in a large or complex firm, with IP docketing, state and federal filings, and high-quality document management.

A Bachelor's degree and ABA Paralegal Certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; ABA Paralegal Certification preferred.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible litigation paralegal experience.
• Intellectual property litigation experience preferred, including patent/trademark work.
• Experience in a large or complex law firm environment preferred.
• Experience with state and federal court filings, discovery, and depositions.

Responsibilities

• Support complex intellectual property and commercial litigation in state and federal courts.
• Organize and manage case files, pleadings, discovery materials, exhibits, and other litigation documents.
• Prepare state and federal court filings, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and supporting materials.
• Cite check, Bluebook, and proofread pleadings and briefs.
• Coordinate document collection, review, discovery, and productions with attorneys and vendors.
• Assist with deposition preparation and logistics.
• Prepare for client meetings, hearings, arbitrations, depositions, and trials.
• Assist attorneys with discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and privilege logs.
• Maintain case chronologies, discovery trackers, and matter deadlines.

Job description

An established international law firm is seeking an IP Litigation Paralegal to join its Chicago office. This is a full-time, hybrid position supporting attorneys on complex intellectual property and commercial litigation matters.

The salary range for this position is 85k-125k, depending on experience.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience, ideally within a large or complex law firm environment. Experience supporting intellectual property litigation, including patent and trademark matters, is strongly preferred. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree, and an ABA Paralegal Certification is preferred.

Job Duties:

• Support complex intellectual property and commercial litigation in state and federal courts, including patent and trademark disputes


• Organize and manage case files, pleadings, discovery materials, exhibits, and other litigation documents


• Prepare and coordinate state and federal court filings, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and supporting materials


• Cite check, Bluebook, and proofread pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents


• Coordinate document collection, review, discovery, and productions with attorneys, clients, litigation technology teams, and outside vendors


• Assist with deposition preparation, including witness files, exhibits, transcripts, and deposition logistics


• Prepare legal teams for client meetings, hearings, arbitrations, depositions, and trials


• Assist attorneys with discovery requests and responses, deposition notices, subpoenas, privilege logs, and third-party productions


• Maintain case chronologies, discovery trackers, litigation databases, and matter deadlines


• Conduct legal and factual research and coordinate with litigation docketing teams to ensure deadlines are properly recorded and tracked

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required; ABA Paralegal Certification preferred


• 5+ years of progressively responsible litigation paralegal experience


• Intellectual property litigation experience strongly preferred, including patent and/or trademark litigation


• Experience within a large or complex law firm environment strongly preferred


• Experience with state and federal court filings, discovery, document productions, depositions, and hearing or trial preparation


• Working knowledge of PACER/CM/ECF and applicable state electronic filing systems


• Experience with Relativity or comparable document review platforms


• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF tools


• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced litigation team


• Ability to work three days per week in the Chicago office
