Helen of Troy is seeking an Assistant General Counsel – Intellectual Property to lead the protection of our brands and portfolio, overseeing patent, trademark, and copyright matters while advising senior leadership on strategic IP initiatives in a fast-paced, publicly traded environment. The role requires a JD, 4+ years IP experience, Texas bar admission, and eligibility to work in the United States.

This is a hybrid role with collaboration across teams and a focus on budgeting and mentoring

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
• 4+ years of in-house or law firm experience in intellectual property.
• Active law license in Texas.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.

Responsibilities

• Manage and protect the company’s intellectual property portfolio.
• Develop strategic IP initiatives aligned with business goals.
• Provide experienced IP counsel on patent, trademark, and copyright matters.
• Lead IP litigation management and licensing transactions.
• Coordinate with external counsel within budget for IP matters.
• Provide IP training and mentorship to internal teams.
• Support brand protection and risk mitigation.
