Helen of Troy is seeking an Assistant General Counsel – Intellectual Property to lead our strategic IP initiatives and protect a broad portfolio of brands including OXO, Hydro Flask, and Vicks. The role emphasizes patent law, IP litigation, licensing, and proactive risk management within a fast-moving, publicly traded company.

You will guide IP strategy with senior leadership, manage budgets, and coordinate with external counsel.

Qualifications

• JD required with bar license in Texas.
• Minimum 4 years of IP experience in-house or at a law firm.
• Experience in patent law, IP litigation, and licensing preferred.
• Active ability to work in a fast-paced, publicly traded company environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee patent portfolio development, maintenance, and enforcement.
• Develop IP strategy aligned with business goals.
• Lead IP litigation management including patent, trademark, and copyright disputes.
• Negotiate and draft IP licenses and related agreements.
• Identify and mitigate IP risks with cross-functional partners.
• Coordinate outside counsel within budget and timelines.
• Conduct IP due diligence for mergers, acquisitions.
• Provide IP training and mentorship to internal teams.
