Job summary

Roblox is seeking an Intellectual Property Counsel to join the Legal and Advocacy team. You will advise cross-functional groups on IP enforcement, copyright, trademarks, and platform liability, shaping policy and responses for emerging technologies.

You will manage IP disputes end-to-end, draft takedowns and notices, and build playbooks to scale Roblox’s protections while collaborating with outside counsel and internal partners.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of legal experience in IP, preferably in tech.
• Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• Experience advising on infringement assessment, IP disputes, and platform liability.
• Strong knowledge of trademark, copyright, licensing, AI, and content moderation.
• Ability to educate stakeholders and mitigate risk with practical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Advise and collaborate with teams on IP enforcement and protection.
• Assist with intermediary liability, copyright, and trade secrets matters.
• Manage IP disputes end-to-end with internal and external counsel.
• Assess and triage off-platform infringement and coordinate enforcement.
• Draft cease-and-desist letters, takedown notices, and platform IP complaints.
• Oversee IP notice-and-takedown programs and related policy guidance.
• Advise on platform liability issues for new launches (DMCA, EU DSAR).
• Build playbooks, templates, and policies to streamline IP work.
• Provide IP training to cross-functional partners.
• Stay current on evolving IP laws and technology trends.
