Job summary

Roblox seeks a Privacy & Security Counsel to join our Privacy & Security Legal team. The role focuses on legal security, offering guidance on laws, regulations, incidents, and policies. Based in San Mateo, CA with a hybrid model (Tue–Thu in office).

You will collaborate with Detection & Response and Global Security, guiding incident lifecycle, governance initiatives, and regulatory reporting while aligning with business needs and data flows across Roblox’s architecture.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of data security, data privacy, data protection and governance experience.
• Expertise in US and global data security and protection laws and regulations.
• Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar; California Bar admission preferred.
• Experience with security incidents including breaches and regulator notifications.
• Ability to translate legal analysis for technical teams and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME guidance on the evolving global security and privacy legal landscape.
• Engage with incident response teams during incidents and provide legal guidance throughout the lifecycle.
• Own and deliver complex cybersecurity legal initiatives end-to-end, including governance frameworks.
• Embed within security pods as a trusted legal partner for various teams (App Security, GRC, Privacy Engineering).
• Provide cross-functional legal advice to corporate, employment, compliance, policy, regulatory, product, privacy and commercial teams.
