Job summary

LeoForce is seeking a mid-level IP Attorney to join its nationally recognized intellectual property practice in Austin, TX. The role focuses on complex patent litigation with matters before district courts, the ITC, and the PTAB.

The attorney will draft pleadings and motions, conduct technical research, manage discovery, take depositions, and collaborate with experts and trial teams on strategy and case development.

Qualifications

• Mid-level patent litigation experience.
• Experience before U.S. district courts, ITC, or PTAB.
• Strong research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience with technical subject matter, experts, and discovery.
• Patent Bar membership preferred.
• Federal judicial clerkship experience is a plus.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Bar admission in good standing.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in lean, collaborative litigation teams.
• Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, or related technical field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex patent litigation matters from initial case development through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, claim-construction filings, and other substantive legal documents.
• Conduct legal and technical research involving patent infringement, validity, enforceability, and damages.
• Manage written discovery, document productions, and expert-related discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Work closely with technical experts and consultants.
• Assist with Markman proceedings, dispositive motions, trial preparation, and post-trial matters.
• Support proceedings before U.S. district courts, the ITC, and the PTAB.
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy.
• Manage multiple deadlines across sophisticated, high-stakes matters.

Job Details

We are seeking a mid-level Patent Litigation Associate to join a nationally recognized intellectual property practice. This opportunity is available in the Dallas, Austin, and New York offices and is ideal for an attorney with meaningful experience handling complex patent disputes.

The associate will work on sophisticated matters involving advanced technologies and collaborate closely with experienced trial lawyers on cases before federal district courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
