We are hiring an IoT Solutions Architecture Manager to lead a regionally-focused team of Field engineers in Presales and Professional Services, assisting customers with solution architecture, design, and delivery.

Location:

This is a remote role, managing a team in one of three Geos: Americas, EMEA, or APAC. You must be located in one of these regions.

About the Role:

Our IoT mission is to enable companies to operate secure, connected devices. We provide the Ubuntu OS and kernel, with secure update and management mechanisms. Our customers develop mission-critical control systems, gateways, and appliances that require high security and quality standards. We aim to extend this security to the consumer electronics and device markets.

Our Field Engineers are technical leaders who help solve complex problems, focusing on embedded Linux strategy and delivery. They are passionate about helping customers achieve technical and business goals, and about sharing their knowledge to foster continuous improvement and personal development.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and develop a team of Field engineers across Presales and Professional Services
2. Assist customers with solution architecture and problem-solving, acting as a trusted advisor
3. Manage a remote team within a single major time zone
4. Mentor team members and support their career development
5. Track and improve team health indicators
6. Implement disciplined engineering processes
7. Represent your team and products to stakeholders, partners, and customers
8. Promote best engineering and organizational practices
9. Plan and oversee progress on goals and projects
10. Participate actively in the leadership team and collaborate with other leaders

Candidate Profile:

1. Strong academic background from high school through university
2. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
3. Extensive experience with embedded Linux (e.g., Yocto)
4. Deep Linux expertise, preferably with Debian or Ubuntu
5. Proficiency in at least one programming language: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
6. Experience managing a small team
7. Customer engagement experience
8. Professional fluency in English
9. Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, accountability
10. Results-driven with a commitment to meeting goals
11. Ability to articulate the business value of technology
12. Quick learner and humble attitude

Preferred Traits:

RTOS experience, additional programming languages, and previous remote work experience are desirable.
