Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking an IOT Operations Engineer to join their IoT Operations and Reliability group, supporting cloud infrastructure enabling bidirectional communication between devices and cloud services. You will own operational issues and troubleshoot complex distributed systems in a high-scale environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on AWS experience (SQS, SNS, S3, RDS, ECR, CloudWatch), Terraform / Infrastructure as Code, and IoT / Connected Device expertise.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on AWS cloud services experience supporting production applications.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot issues spanning multiple systems.
• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• IoT / connected device domain knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, support, and improve AWS-based backend and IoT services powering a large-scale connected-device environment.
• Provide operational support for 25–30 million devices and >1 billion daily requests.
• Monitor event and messaging pipelines; analyze anomalies and root causes across distributed systems.
• Own Jira tickets end-to-end from fixes to multi-week investigations.
• Support infrastructure using IaC, with Terraform preferred, and AWS services including SNS/SQS/RDS/S3/ECR.

Our client is seeking a IOT Operations Engineer to join their team. As a IOT Operations Engineer, you will be part of the IoT Operations and Reliability group supporting the IoT team that owns and supports the cloud infrastructure enabling bidirectional communication between connected devices and cloud-based services.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on AWS (SQS, SNS, S3, RDS, ECR, CloudWatch) experience, Terraform / Infrastructure as Code , the ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems , IoT / Connected Device experience, and the drive to independently take ownership of operational issues.

Pay Range: $80-89

What's the Job?

• Maintain, support, and improve existing AWS-based backend and IoT services that power a large-scale connected-device environment.

• Provide operational support for approximately 25–30 million connected devices and services processing more than 1 billion requests per day.

• Monitor event and messaging pipelines, analyze anomalies, and determine likely root causes across distributed systems (including upstream/downstream dependencies).

• Own Jira tickets end-to-end, from short-term fixes to multi-week investigations that may span multiple systems.

• Support infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, with Terraform strongly preferred, and work with AWS services including SNS, SQS, RDS, S3, and ECR/Elastic Container Registry.

What's Needed?

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and supporting/troubleshooting production applications and services.

• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for issues that may span multiple systems and services.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned work with minimal day-to-day guidance.

• Hands-on experience with Terraform and comfort supporting infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.

• Ability and willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for production operational support.
