Job summary

T-Mobile is seeking a senior device security specialist to protect digital assets across IoT, CPEs, hotspots, trackers, routers, and modems. You will lead end-to-end security assessments, conduct forensics, and collaborate with engineering teams and OEMs to embed security in hardware and software development.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in security assessments, strong leadership, and hands-on experience with 4G/5G architectures, cloud environments, and security tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology required.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience conducting device security assessments and testing on IoT devices, routers, modems, or similar embedded platforms.
• 3–5 years of proficiency in security tools (Ghidra, IDA Pro, dotPeek, Burpsuite, Nmap, hashcat, OllyDbg).
• 3–5 years of hands-on knowledge of 4G LTE and 5G architecture (RAN/Core) including cloud environments and containerized applications.
• 3–5 years of programming experience (Python, C++, C#, PHP, shell scripting) with automation and AI tool familiarity preferred.
• 7–10 years conducting security assessments and vulnerability testing across digital environments (preferred).
• 7–10 years developing and implementing cybersecurity measures across mobile and IoT devices, cloud services, and network technologies (preferred).
• 7–10 years leading and collaborating with engineering teams on security initiatives (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end device security assessments and penetration testing across IoT, CPEs, hotspots, trackers, routers, and modems.
• Develop proactive device security measures and strategies to enhance security posture across technologies.
• Collaborate with device engineering teams and OEMs to integrate security practices into hardware and software development including deployment processes.
• Conduct digital forensics on compromised devices and coordinate with threat response teams.
• Drive strategic security initiatives to protect against cyber threats and ensure compliance with standards.
• Define and evolve device security assessment methodology and tooling roadmap.
• Mentor and upskill junior and mid-level security engineers on device security techniques.
• Manage other duties/projects as assigned by management.
