Job summary

Uber’s Maps Mobile Platform team is seeking an experienced iOS engineer to help build the foundational geospatial engine that powers every Uber journey. You will design APIs, maintain the Map Display SDK, and collaborate with Rider, Driver, and Eats teams to accelerate mobile engineering velocity.

You’ll write robust Swift and Objective-C, focus on stability and test coverage, and tackle platform-level challenges such as memory management and concurrency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional iOS software engineering experience.
• Strong CS fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and system design.
• Proficiency in Swift and Objective-C, with solid iOS SDK knowledge.
• Experience writing testable, production-ready code with unit and integration tests.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the Maps API layer and Map Display SDK powering iOS geospatial experiences.
• Architect intuitive APIs enabling product engineers to ship map features safely and rapidly.
• Collaborate with Rider, Driver, and Eats teams to uncover developer pain points and drive platform innovations.
• Write robust Swift and Objective-C code with focus on stability, backwards compatibility, and test coverage.
• Diagnose, profile, and resolve complex platform-level regressions, memory leaks, and concurrency challenges.
• Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews to elevate engineering excellence.
