Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine seeks an experienced Neurological Surgery Monitoring Technologist to lead the Neurophysiology team in intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM). The IONM Supervisor will oversee cases, junior staff, and departmental functions while performing complex neuromonitoring to safeguard patients during surgery.

This role partners with physicians, administration, and leaders to advance quality, safety, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher required; related healthcare experience acceptable in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 5 years of intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) experience in a surgical setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform intraoperative monitoring to ensure patient safety during procedures.
• Assign IONM activities, supervise floor staff, and mentor junior technologists.
• Establish staff schedules and daily assignments for coverage and efficiency.
• Monitor operational reports and adjust workflows in real time for performance.
• Provide on-site supervision of IONM operations and collaborate with leadership.
