Job summary

Guild Mortgage Company is seeking an Investor Suspense Underwriting Analyst to join a fast-paced team that resolves loan defects and ensures timely loan purchases. You will advise the team, analyze trends, and support manufacturing quality across conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, jumbo, and other programs.

The role requires expert underwriting experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders to maintain compliance and efficiency in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree directly related to the position or equivalent, preferred.
• Minimum five years' experience in underwriting conventional, FHA, VA, or Bond Program loans, and/or experience underwriting jumbo, or permanent/one-time close loans.
• Expert-level knowledge of mortgage lending processes and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work with Suspense Specialists and Investors to resolve defects and get loans purchased in a timely manner.
• Handle a pipeline of escalated problem loans and conduct independent research to rebut Investor decisions.
• Analyze suspense trends and prepare recommendations to improve manufacturing quality.
• Collaborate with a large team and help to train suspense specialists on loan guidelines and manufacturing.
• Review and evaluate loan documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
• Review appraisals to ensure loans meet secondary market, investor, and company standards.
