Position Title: Investor Relations - Capital Raising (Private Equity / Alternatives)

Location: Charlotte, NC (onsite)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Investor Relations professional with a proven track record in capital raising for alternative investments. The ideal candidate will bring extensive relationships across Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) and institutional investors, coupled with a strong ability to proactively originate opportunities through both outbound and inbound sales channels. This role is critical to driving the firm's growth objectives through strategic investor engagement, targeted fundraising initiatives, and disciplined pipeline management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute comprehensive fundraising and capital formation strategies across private equity, private credit, and other alternative investment vehicles.
  • Proactively generate new investor opportunities through high-volume outbound prospecting, including cold calling and targeted outreach campaigns.
  • Manage and convert inbound investor inquiries and leads, ensuring timely follow-up, qualification, and progression through the pipeline.
  • Drive full-cycle sales execution, from initial outreach and relationship development through due diligence and closing capital commitments.
  • Develop and maintain deep relationships with RIAs, family offices, endowments, foundations, and other institutional investors.
  • Partner with senior leadership to design and implement data-driven capital raising campaigns and investor acquisition strategies.
Investor Relations Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for existing and prospective investors, delivering a high standard of responsiveness, transparency, and professionalism.
  • Maintain consistent engagement with investors through phone-based outreach, virtual meetings, and in-person interactions.
  • Coordinate investor communications, including quarterly reports, fund updates, and performance summaries.
  • Organize and manage investor meetings, roadshows, conferences, and due diligence sessions.
  • Maintain and actively manage a robust sales pipeline, tracking all outbound and inbound activity within CRM systems.
  • Utilize CRM platforms to monitor engagement metrics, optimize outreach strategies, and drive conversion rates.
  • Establish KPIs related to call activity, investor engagement, and capital raise targets, ensuring accountability to performance goals.
Strategic Collaboration
  • Work cross-functionally with investment, operations, and marketing teams to develop compelling marketing collateral, investor decks, and offering materials.
  • Provide actionable insights to senior leadership regarding market trends, investor sentiment, and product positioning.
  • Support the development and refinement of fund strategies aligned with investor demand and institutional standards.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field required
  • MBA or CFA designation preferred
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in investor relations, capital raising, or sales within private equity, hedge funds, or alternative investments
  • Demonstrated success in both outbound (cold calling) and inbound sales environments, with a track record of closing institutional capital
Expertise:
  • Proven ability to raise capital from RIAs and institutional investors
  • Deep understanding of alternative investment structures (private equity, private credit, real assets, etc.)
  • Strong familiarity with SEC regulations, RIA distribution channels, and fundraising compliance
Skills:
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship management capabilities
  • Strong sales acumen with a results-oriented, revenue-driven mindset
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to investor engagement and pipeline management
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms and investor reporting systems
