Job Purpose

Cerberus is seeking an Associate to join the Asset-Backed Finance platform in a Capital Formation support role. The position will play a key role in supporting fundraising, investor diligence, and marketing efforts across the platform.

The team is preparing for fundraising for Fund II beginning in the fall, creating an opportunity for this individual to help build the go-to-market materials, investor-facing narrative, and operating infrastructure that support the raise. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys the intersection of investment strategy, investor relations, product strategy, and sales operations.

Responsibilities
  • Build fundraising and investor-facing materials from scratch, including pitch books, presentations, portfolio updates, investment case studies, and platform overviews.
  • Own and coordinate responses to investor diligence requests, including DDQs, RFPs, follow-up questions, and ad hoc materials related to active fundraising efforts.
  • Partner closely with investment professionals, capital formation, investor relations, legal, compliance, finance, and other internal stakeholders to gather information and produce accurate, polished, and compelling materials.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Cerberus' Asset-Backed Finance strategies, portfolio activity, investment approach, market positioning, and fundraising priorities.
  • Support the Fund II fundraising process by helping create the content, analytics, and investor communications needed to present the strategy effectively to prospective limited partners.
  • Build a strong foundation for a potential longer-term path into fundraising, investor relations, or a more client-facing capital formation role, depending on interest and performance.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in sales operations, product strategy, investor relations, institutional business development, RFP / DDQ writing, proposal management, capital formation support, investor reporting, or client service within alternatives or asset management.
  • Exposure to private credit, asset-backed finance, structured credit, RMBS, ABS, specialty finance, real estate credit, or broader alternatives is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience building polished PowerPoint presentations, pitch decks, marketing materials, or investor-facing content from scratch.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to synthesize complex investment information into clear, persuasive, and accurate messaging.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple investor requests, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and interest in learning investment strategies, portfolio construction, market dynamics, and fundraising processes.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with investment teams, capital formation, legal, compliance, finance, and operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word required; experience with Salesforce, Qvidian, content libraries, Preqin, Power BI, or similar tools is a plus.
Compensation

The base salary for this position is expected to be between $150,000.00 and $170,000.00. The base salary offered to the chosen candidate will be commensurate with a candidate’s relevant experience and other qualifications for the position, as determined by the Company in its sole discretion. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus [which is often a meaningful portion of the compensation package], and a robust benefits package.
