Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a skilled finance professional to collaborate with leadership in executing and enhancing our investor relations strategy. You will help communicate our financial performance and long‑term value to internal and external stakeholders.

You will develop investor‑facing content, perform financial analysis and market research, and support relationships with investors, analysts, brokers, and rating agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business.
• 4 years' experience in Finance or Accounting.
• MBA or CPA preferred.

• Support investor communications and content development, including earnings presentations, investor decks, fact sheets, executive briefing materials, website updates, and other investor‑facing communications.
• Monitor industry, regulatory, market, and company developments relevant to investor relations activities and summarize key trends for leadership.
• Support earnings‑related activities, including preparation of earnings materials, earnings call coordination, analyst consensus tracking, and Q&A support.
• Support relationships with investors, analysts, rating agencies, and other financial stakeholders; coordinate responses to inquiries.
• Assist in planning and executing investor events (annual meeting, conferences, roadshows, earnings calls) including content, logistics and follow-ups.
• Partner with IR team on financial analysis, valuation benchmarking, ownership analysis, investor targeting, and peer comparisons.

What You'll Do:

• Support investor communications and content development, including earnings presentations, investor decks, fact sheets, executive briefing materials, website updates, and other investor‑facing communications. Assist in ensuring materials are accurate, consistent, and aligned with company messaging.

• Monitor industry, regulatory, market, and company developments relevant to investor relations activities. Support the development of summaries and reports of key trends, news, analyst commentary, and market developments for the Investor Relations team and senior leadership.

• Support earnings‑related activities, including preparation of earnings materials, earnings call technology coordination, analyst consensus tracking, Q&A support and analysis of investor and analyst feedback following earnings releases and other key disclosures.

• Support relationships with investors, analysts, rating agencies, and other financial community stakeholders. Coordinate responses to investor inquiries with internal and external partners.

• Support planning and execution of investor events, including the annual meeting, conferences, roadshows, and earnings calls. Coordinate content, logistics, messaging, and event follow‑up.

• Partner with Investor Relations team members to complete financial analysis, valuation benchmarking, ownership analysis, investor targeting strategies, consensus tracking, and peer comparisons.

• Collaborate with internal business partners, including Finance, Treasury, Accounting, Corporate Communications, Legal, Regulatory, and Strategy teams, to gather information and support investor relations initiatives and deliverables.

What We're Looking For:

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business.

Experience: 4 years' experience in Finance or Accounting.

Additional Expectations:

• MBA or CPA preferred.

• Must have excellent communication skills.

• Working knowledge of the business and competition.

• Strong client focus and initiative.

The Tax Manager / Tax Senior Manager - Accounting and Reporting is responsible for supporting income tax accounting matters, including the monthly income tax provision, quarterly/annual reporting, and SOX controls processes. They will plan, organize, and lead a team focusing on staff development and process improvements. They will also lend support in areas such as tax forecasting, tax compliance, audits and legislative impacts, and regulatory matters.

Administers the company's enterprise risk management credit policy under supervision, including but not limited to supporting all AEP business units for moderately complex transactions and is responsible for determining the financial ability of AEP'' counterparties to deliver contracted products and services and meet payment obligations, negotiation of credit provisions for master agreements, and guaranty negotiation, execution, and maintenance to ensure best possible guaranty coverage.

Partners closely with leadership to execute and enhance AEP's investor relations strategy, effectively communicating the company's financial performance and long-term value proposition to both internal and external stakeholders. Drives the development of investor-facing content, presentations, and communications; performs advanced financial analysis and market research; and supports relationship‑building with investors, analysts, brokers, and rating agencies. Provides mentorship and guidance to team members and contributes to the continuous improvement of investor relations processes, communications, and stakeholder engagement.
