Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a seasoned Investor Relations professional to partner with leadership on the IR strategy and communications. You will develop investor-facing content, analyze financial data, and engage with investors, analysts, brokers, and rating agencies to convey the company’s long-term value proposition.

The role requires strong communication skills, deep finance knowledge, and collaboration with multiple internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business.
• 6 years of experience in finance or accounting.
• Proficiency and expert-level skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; MBA or CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create investor relations content (earnings decks, investor presentations, messaging, fact sheets, executive briefings, website content).
• Ensure messaging is accurate and aligned with AEP strategy.
• Monitor industry/regulatory/market developments relevant to IR.
• Maintain summaries of trends, analyst commentary, and market developments for IR leadership.
• Support earnings call activities including key messages and Q&A prep.
• Support relationships with investors, analysts, rating agencies and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate responses to investor inquiries with internal/external partners.
• Assist in planning investor events (annual meeting, conferences, roadshows, earnings calls).
• Perform financial analysis, benchmarking, ownership analysis, and consensus tracking.
• Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Accounting, Corporate Communications, Legal, Regulatory and Strategy to support IR initiatives.
• Identify and implement improvements to IR processes, reporting tools and engagement strategies.
