Job summary

The State Treasurer's Office in South Carolina seeks an Investments & Portfolio Analyst to support the Investments Trading and Operations Management Divisions. You will coordinate custodian, trading and compliance activities for the state's investments and maintain relationships with custodian banks, the STO investment advisor, LGIP participants and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business management or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in investment trading, accounting, finance, debt management, securities processing, credit or banking.
• Experience in investments or relevant public finance analysis is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with executive level management.

Responsibilities

• Monitors investment trading activities for all fixed income portfolios and assists with settlement issues and accounting.
• Reviews portfolio performance, market exposure, credit quality, and CIP conformance; conducts risk analysis.
• Maintains CIP allocations and benchmarks; ensures compliance with state laws and reporting.
• Prepares monthly/quarterly reports and analyzes variances between Investment Manager and Custodian Bank.
• Creates and maintains operational procedures and mitigates business risks; collaborates across divisions.
