Job summary

PAIRS is hiring an Investment Team Lead to run a five-person investment team handling investor relationships and founder companies. You will set standards for match quality, oversee weekly pipeline reviews, and coach on real calls and pitches.

You report to the two co-founders and guide senior investor conversations across multiple funds. Success means strong leadership, a robust network across funds and family offices, and the ability to manage confidential financials and terms with discretion.

Job description

We are hiring an Investment Team Lead to run our investment team. Five associates, each holding a book of investor relationships and client companies, and one leader who makes them excellent. That leader is you.

Pairs is where founders come to raise capital. We pair them with the right investors from a large, engaged global investor network, then our agents manage the relationships that turn into meetings. It is a two-sided platform, live with paying clients, profitable and self-funded, built by a small, senior, flat team that ships fast.

The role

If you have run a team of analysts or associates at a VC fund, you already know most of this job. Your associates run mandate calls with investors, decide which company goes to which investor, write the pitch, and turn it into founder calls. You set the standard for what a good match looks like, run the weekly pipeline review, read every pass for its reason, and coach on real calls and real pitches. You still take the senior investor conversations that need you on the call. Every week you see which deals investors lean into and which they pass on, across many investment committees at once: a view very few seats in venture give you. You report directly to the two co-founders.

What you will own

• A team of five associates: hiring, onboarding, weekly 1:1s, coaching, and their results.

• The weekly pipeline review: every deal in motion, every pass and its reason, and what changes next week.

• Match quality: every company that reaches an investor fits what that investor told us, and every pitch reads like a tight two-line deal memo.

• The team’s numbers, reported weekly to the co-founders: mandate calls, activations, pitches, founder calls, and referrals.

• Senior investor relationships at funds and family offices, where the call needs someone senior.

You are a fit if you

• Have managed 5 to 10 analysts or associates at a VC or growth fund, and can show who you grew.

• Have deal judgment others trust: one read tells you whether a company is venture-backable and which investor it fits.

• Hold a real network across funds and family offices, built over years of sourcing, co-investing, and syndicating.

• Have run a pipeline meeting, hired junior investors, and had the hard conversation when one was not working out.

• Write a two-line pitch an investor reads to the end.

• Treat discretion as a reflex: financials, cap tables, terms, and names stay confidential, always.

• Work like it’s 2026: AI tooling runs your trackers, briefs, and follow-ups, so your hours go to people instead of admin.

What we offer

US$200K to US$300K total compensation. Fully remote. Your day overlaps with US Eastern time for a few hours, since that is when our clients and investors are live. Meetings across the company batch on Mondays and Thursdays. The best AI tooling, paid (Claude Code, Cursor, top models).
