Job description

Location: Atlanta, GA (Southeast-based firm)

Reports to: Director of Investment Strategy

Employment type: Full-time

About the Firm

We are a confidential, SEC-registered RIA built exclusively around ultra-high-net-worth families and entrepreneurs, not a mixed mass-affluent book. We generally do not serve institutions. We are independently operated, which keeps our incentives aligned with our clients' rather than a parent company's. Our practice pairs a high-touch, family-office service model with integrated investment management, tax-aware portfolio construction, estate planning, and financial planning.

We don't market or advertise. We invite. We're extending a confidential invitation to a research-minded associate who wants to build a career on the idea that every research conclusion, every manager recommendation, and every chart we build exists to support one thing: better advice for the families we serve.

Position Summary

The Investment Strategy Associate provides research support, both data and analytical interpretation, for the firm's investment decisions. You will assist in due diligence on managers and funds, monitor public and private markets for relevant trends, and maintain the tools and dashboards that guide allocation discussions. As you develop, you'll take on lead coverage of managers and strategies at the Director's discretion, and collaborate closely with advisors, portfolio managers, client service, and operations across the firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct first-pass research on inbound managers, funds, and pitch decks against track record, fees, liquidity terms, and basic risk metrics; escal<**?** Wait, correct broken: actually original: "escalate qualified opportunities to senior team members." so we'll fix:
  • Conduct first-pass research on inbound managers, funds, and pitch decks against track record, fees, liquidity terms, and basic risk metrics; escape? Already fixed.
  • Own manager monitoring for an assigned coverage list: schedule update calls, read fund updates, and draft concise summary notes advisors use in client and prospect conversations.
  • Proactively engage managers with questions and concerns, and verify manager information against unbiased sources where practical.
  • Maintain the investment pipeline, closing dates, IC discussion notes, and the approved funds list; uphold quarterly monitoring cadence for alternative managers and SMA investments.
  • Build and maintain the weekly chart pack of economic indicators, credit spreads, and equity market momentum used to guide allocation discussions.
  • Support preparation of DD memos and IC exhibits; collect data room documents (PPMs, LPAs, sub-docs, policies); run PitchBook peer comparisons on manager performance and terms; build fluency with Bloomberg.
  • Provide advisors with the evidence and analysis they need to speak accurately about a fund or allocation in client conversations.
  • Contribute to the quarterly market update and other investment insight pieces, including post-mortems and red-team reviews of current ideas.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience, or a strong internship and academic record, in investment research, financial services, or wealth management.
  • Foundational knowledge of investment concepts, asset classes, and financial markets.
  • Proficiency in Excel and the Office suite; familiarity with Bloomberg, PitchBook, or Addepar a plus.
  • Progress toward the CFA or CAIA designation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines across overlapping projects.
  • Experience with ultra-high-net-worth clients is helpful but not required.
What We Look For
  • Curiosity: you treat investing as a craft, not just a paycheck, and you're the type to read, question, and go one layer deeper.
  • Clear thinking: you connect signals across many inputs and synthesize them into clear conclusions.
  • Attention to detail: your numbers tie out, you read terms carefully, and your work holds up under scrutiny.
  • Teamwork and determination: you measure success by team outcomes and push through hard problems.
  • Client focus: you understand that this work ultimately shows up in the quality of advice we deliver to families.
Why This Opportunity

We're a growing firm where the work you do has direct, visible impact on client outcomes, not lost in a large institutional research shop. As you build coverage experience, you'll take on increasing ownership at the Director's discretion. We invest in developing our people because the quality of our research is the quality of our advice.
