Job summary

Thrivent’s Investment Operations Intern program offers a 12-week summer internship designed to provide college students with meaningful work experience within a Fortune 500 financial services organization. The internship supports hands-on experience in trade support, cash management, corporate actions, reporting, and data analysis across multiple asset classes.

Responsibilities include trade verification, reconciliation, maintaining investment data, and supporting onboarding and process

Qualifications

• Current junior pursuing undergraduate degree in Finance or Economics (graduation date Dec 2027 or May 2028).
• Excellent academic track record (GPA 3.0+).
• Customer focus and team orientation.
• Attention to detail.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work full time during the summer.
• Ability to work in the United States for an indefinite period without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for equity, fixed income, derivatives, private equity, and investment strategy transactions; ensure accurate trade verification, affirmation and settlement.
• Reconcile trades, positions, and cash balances across multiple asset classes; monitor and elevate discrepancies or breaks as needed.
• Maintain accurate investment data in internal systems and portfolio accounting platforms; support updates driven by operational processes.
• Process corporate actions, income collections, variation margins, collateral, and settlements; ensure proper handling and reconciliation.
• Communicate time-sensitive information to portfolio managers, traders, brokers, custodians, fund accountants, and internal stakeholders.
• Liaise with external partners including brokers, custodians, and vendors to maintain strong relationships and resolve issues.

Education

Current Undergraduate in Finance or Economics

Excellent academic track record (GPA 3.0+)
