  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business preferred.
  • Understanding of investment products, trade lifecycle, cash movements, and fund operations.
  • Exposure to cash/position reconciliations, custodians, trade data, or multi-currency portfolios preferred.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills with attention to accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily fund cash flows, balances, and liquidity across accounts and currencies.
  • Review trade activity and assist with post-trade compliance monitoring.
  • Monitor trading and position data and address discrepancies or follow-ups.
  • Pull and organize cash, position, and trade data for monthly reconciliations with custodians.
  • Support sanctions screening and related compliance checks; maintain records for reviews.

Job description

Our client, a growing hedge fund based in New York, NY, is seeking a Junior Investment Operations & Compliance Analyst to join its team in a hybrid capacity. This is a great opportunity for an early-career professional looking to build experience across both investment operations and compliance within a hedge fund environment. The individual will support the day-to-day operational needs of the funds, including cash and liquidity monitoring, trade oversight, reconciliations, and custodial data, while also assisting with a variety of compliance monitoring, reporting, and recordkeeping responsibilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor daily fund cash flows, cash balances, and liquidity across multiple accounts and currencies.
  • Review trade activity and assist with post-trade compliance monitoring.
  • Monitor trading and position data and identify discrepancies or exceptions requiring follow-up.
  • Pull and organize cash, position, and trade data to support monthly reconciliations with custodians.
  • Work with custodial data across different accounts, funds, asset classes, and currencies.
  • Assist with sanctions screening and related compliance checks.
  • Maintain required records for marketing material reviews and approvals.
  • Track and maintain records of fund expenses and other operational activity.
  • Maintain compliance, trading, and other required internal logs.
  • Assist with monthly AUM reporting and related data collection.
  • Collect, organize, and file employee brokerage statements for compliance review.
  • Support the firm's gifts and entertainment review and recordkeeping process.
  • Assist with the preparation and review workflow for marketing and investor materials.
  • Partner with Operations, Compliance, Trading, custodians, and other external service providers to research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with ad hoc operational, reporting, and compliance projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in investment operations, fund operations, trade support, compliance, or a related financial services role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Understanding of investment products, trade lifecycle, cash movements, and/or fund operations.
  • Exposure to cash and position reconciliations, custodians, trade data, or multi-currency portfolios is preferred.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills with the ability to work with large amounts of financial and trade data.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple recurring processes and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hedge fund environment.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid office environment.
