Vaco in New York City is seeking an Investment Operations Analyst to support portfolio reporting, investment accounting, data management, and client servicing across a diverse portfolio of alternative investments.

The role emphasizes accuracy, analytical thinking, and collaboration with internal teams and external managers, custodians, and clients, with hybrid in-office schedule (three days per week) and opportunities to grow in investment management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in investment operations, fund administration, accounting, finance, or related field.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Excel and other business applications.
• Interest in financial markets, investment management, private markets, or alternative investments.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and maintain investment, portfolio, and financial data across internal reporting systems
• Analyze financial statements, capital activity reports, and other investment-related documentation
• Reconcile portfolio information and transaction activity to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Monitor investment balances, valuations, and performance metrics, investigating discrepancies as needed
• Maintain databases and reporting tools used for portfolio analysis and client reporting
• Assist with preparation of recurring reports, investment summaries, and ad hoc analyses
• Coordinate with external managers, service providers, custodians, and clients to resolve operational issues and data inquiries
• Support portfolio accounting, reporting, and valuation processes
• Perform quality control reviews and help ensure data integrity across multiple systems
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives designed to enhance reporting efficiency and operational effectiveness
• Participate in special projects and other operational initiatives as needed
