About the Department :
Under the direction of the Southern Methodist University Investment Committee of the Board of Trustees, the Investments Office manages the $2.2 billion endowment, including minerals and other planned giving assets of the University.
About the Position :
This role is an on-campus, in-person position.
The Investment Operations Analyst plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the university's investment office with responsibilities spanning across data management, technology, cash operations, and reporting. This position is ideal for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong sense of ownership and a mindset toward continuous improvement and efficiency.
The Investment Operations Analyst will report to the Director of Investment Operations and have regular interaction with the university's accounting and treasury departments and members of the investment team.
Essential Functions :
Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree is required.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience is required. Candidate with relevant work experience, preferably in investment operations or accounting at an endowment, foundation, asset manager or fund administrator is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Candidate with knowledge of investments concepts, asset classes, investment structures, accounting and finance, and custody and settlement is desired. The candidate must demonstrate advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Suite. Programming experience is a plus.
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.
Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
Familiarity with Solovis, eVestment, Bloomberg, FactSet, Backstop is desired.
