Job summary

The ideal candidate has 3–6 years of relevant experience in public accounting or investment accounting and strong Excel/analytical skills, with exposure to SS&C Advent Geneva and Power BI a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of relevant experience in accounting or investment accounting.
• Background in public accounting/audit, fund accounting, investment accounting, or financial reporting; combination preferred.
• Experience in investment management, private equity, hedge funds, asset management, or similar environment.
• SS&C Advent Geneva experience is highly preferred, especially with investment/fund accounting.
• Understanding of U.S. GAAP, investment accounting, and tax accounting.
• Experience with tax books, shadow accounting, or outsourced fund administrator is a plus.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Exposure to Power BI, automation, UAT, or AI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support fund accounting, financial reporting, and investment accounting across complex portfolios.
• Perform cash, position, and investment reconciliations and research discrepancies.
• Maintain shadow accounting records and tax books with external fund administrator coordination.
• Partner with SS&C, auditors, Tax, Finance, Operations, and other internal teams.

INVESTMENT OPERATIONS & ACCOUNTING ANALYST | BOSTON, MA

A leading Boston-based investment management firm is seeking an Investment Operations & Accounting Analyst to join its Financial Operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with a combination of public accounting and/or investment accounting experience to work across fund accounting, financial reporting, tax accounting, and investment operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support fund accounting, financial reporting, and investment accounting across complex investment portfolios
• Perform cash, position, and investment reconciliations and research discrepancies
• Maintain shadow accounting records and tax books while working closely with the firm’s external fund administrator
• Partner with SS&C, auditors, Tax, Finance, Operations, and other internal teams
• Support financial statements, audits, accruals, and management reporting
• Apply U.S. GAAP and tax accounting principles to investment-related activity
• Assist with accounting for debt, equities, derivatives, and other investments
• Support the firm’s transition toward SS&C Advent Geneva and help improve accounting and operational processes
• Identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation, and process improvements

Ideal Background

• Approximately 3-6 years of relevant experience
• Background in public accounting/audit, fund accounting, investment accounting, or financial reporting; a combination of public accounting and in-house investment accounting experience is strongly preferred
• Experience working within an investment management, private equity, hedge fund, asset management, or similar financial environment
• SS&C Advent Geneva experience is highly preferred, particularly for candidates with investment/fund accounting experience
• Understanding of U.S. GAAP, investment accounting, and tax accounting
