Job summary

IMan Investment is seeking an Investment Manager to cover early-stage companies in the United States and selected global markets. You will research founders and markets, assess investment value, and originate equity opportunities that connect companies with IMan’s capital and Asia Pacific network.

This remote-friendly role allows collaboration across US and Asia Pacific time zones and requires strong analytical rigor and independent research abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
• 4–8 years in venture capital, growth equity, corporate development, or related investing.
• Strong written English and analytical skills; financial modelling is required.
• Experience engaging US early-stage founders; global exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source and research early-stage US and global startups.
• Evaluate investment theses across product, market, team, and traction.
• Prepare concise investment memos and briefs for Partners and Investment Committee.
• Identify equity investments and strategic partnership opportunities.
• Conduct founder meetings and diligence in collaboration with cross-border teams.
• Maintain a high-quality pipeline and map sector themes relevant to focus areas.
• Coordinate with Hong Kong and New York teams on deal progression.

About the role

IMan Investment is hiring an Investment Manager to cover early-stage companies in the United States and selected global markets. You will research founders and markets, assess investment value, and originate equity investment or strategic partnership opportunities that connect ambitious companies with IMan’s capital and Asia Pacific network.This role is remote-friendly and open to candidates based in the United States or elsewhere globally, with periodic collaboration across Hong Kong and New York time zones.

Responsibilities

• Source and research early-stage startups in the US and priority global markets
• Evaluate investment theses across product, market, team, traction and competitive dynamics
• Build concise investment memos and opportunity briefs for Partners and the investment committee
• Identify equity investment opportunities as well as strategic cooperation paths (distribution, corporate partnerships, Asia market entry)
• Run founder meetings, customer references and commercial diligence workstreams
• Maintain a high-quality pipeline of companies and map sector themes relevant to IMan’s focus areas
• Coordinate with Hong Kong and New York colleagues on deal progression and portfolio introductions
• Represent IMan thoughtfully in remote and in-person founder / ecosystem conversations

Requirements

• 4–8 years of experience in venture capital, growth equity, corporate development, startup operating roles or related investing coverage
• Demonstrated ability to independently research companies and form clear investment views
• Strong written English and structured analytical skills; financial modelling competence required
• Comfort engaging US early-stage founders and operators; prior US market exposure preferred
• Self-directed remote working style with high ownership and reliable communication across time zones
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent experience a plus
• Fluency in Mandarin is an advantage for Asia-linked strategic opportunities
