Job summary

MSIG USA is seeking a Senior Associate to support investment accounting, insurance operations, and financial reporting within its Finance organization. 3–5 years of P&C accounting experience with NAIC and GAAP knowledge are required, IFRS a plus.

You will collaborate across Finance, Investments, Actuarial, and Operations to ensure accurate financial reporting. The role emphasizes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work on multiple priorities while maintaining

Qualifications

• Three to five years of accounting experience in the insurance industry (P&C)
• Experience applying U.S. NAIC statutory accounting principles (yellowbooks) and U.S. GAAP
• Investment accounting experience including reconciliations and financial/reporting activities
• Understanding of insurance operations and the flow of transactions to the GL and financial statements
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA is a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual investment accounting activities with journal entries, reconciliations, and roll-forwards
• Support accounting for fixed-income securities, equities, and investment income/impairments
• Prepare investment-related schedules and disclosures for NAIC statutory and IFRS reporting
• Assist with statutory financial statements, regulatory schedules, and management reporting
• Analyze GL balances and resolve differences across systems
• Collaborate with Investment, Treasury, Actuarial, Tax, and Operations teams
• Assist with audits, regulatory examinations, and documentation
• Maintain internal controls and drive process improvements
• Research accounting issues and assess impact of new guidance
• Perform monthly lease accounting reporting
• Participate in Finance projects and system implementations
