Job description

HLS Trading is a systematic macro fund with offices in Greenwich, CT and Miami, FL. We launched in 2026 and run a deliberately small team, so everyone works directly on the business. This role sits at the center of it.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and quantitatively comfortable Investment Coordinator to serve as a strategic partner to our investment team. You’ll act as the central hub between the team and our external partners — our LPs, data vendors, executing brokers, clearing firms, FX dealers, and our outsourced middle office — while also owning core firm operations and supporting recruiting. The role includes monitoring our day-to-day investment process, including execution costs across futures and FX, and working with brokers and dealers to address systematic issues. Trade breaks and reconciliation are handled by a dedicated fractional middle office, so while you’ll oversee that relationship, this role is squarely focused on coordination, counterparty management, and keeping the business running smoothly. You will work directly with the founders, who will provide appropriate training and technical knowledge. This is a hybrid role based in either our Greenwich or Miami office, with three days a week in the office.

Responsibilities
Firm Operations
  • Coordinate payroll, benefits, and firm invoices with our service providers.
  • Manage complex scheduling, travel logistics, and expense processes with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Proactively resolve conflicts, prioritize competing demands, and take on projects as the firm scales.
  • Support recruiting, including the interview calendar, candidate logistics, and new-hire onboarding.
LP Coordination
  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for our LPs, coordinating reporting, information requests, and due diligence questionnaires.
  • Schedule and prepare materials for investor meetings and calls, and track follow-ups to completion.
  • Work with our fund administrator and service providers on investor statements and documentation.
  • Own relationships with market data and research vendors, including sourcing, contracts, renewals, entitlements, and usage.
  • Evaluate vendor value against cost and make recommendations aligned with the team’s research priorities.
  • Manage vendor invoicing and billing, tracking spend against budget and resolving discrepancies.
Broker, Dealer & Middle Office Relations
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for executing brokers, clearing firms, and FX dealers.
  • Manage commission schedules and fee inquiries, ensuring we are billed as negotiated.
  • Act as primary liaison to our outsourced middle office, tracking open issues to resolution and escalating when needed.
  • Coordinate onboarding and documentation for new vendors and counterparties.
Investment Process Monitoring
  • Monitor the day-to-day investment process to confirm it runs as expected, flagging anomalies in data, trading, or execution to the investment team.
  • Track execution costs across futures and FX, including spreads, slippage, commissions, and fill quality by broker and dealer.
  • Identify systematic issues and prepare the analysis for broker and dealer conversations alongside the investment team.
  • Build and maintain reporting on execution costs and process health over time.
Process, Reporting & Compliance
  • Continuously improve how we track vendors, counterparties, costs, and open items.
  • Deliver bespoke reporting to the investment team as needs evolve.
  • Partner with our compliance consultant on recordkeeping, personal trading preclearance, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Required
  • Experience: 2–5 years at a hedge fund, asset manager, bank, or broker in a coordination, business management, broker relations, or operations capacity.
  • Markets: Working knowledge of futures and FX markets.
  • Excel: Strong proficiency, including lookups, pivots, and building analysis from raw data.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including holding vendors and counterparties to account.
  • Organization: Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, closing loops without being reminded.
  • Mindset: Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented, with a passion for enabling high-performance teams.
Strongly Preferred
  • Python or SQL, even at a basic level.
  • Fluency with LLMs and AI tools, using them for real leverage: drafting, summarizing contracts and invoices, cleaning data, and automating routine work.
  • Good judgment about when AI output needs checking, and care with confidential data in firm-approved tools.
  • Exposure to trading, execution, or transaction cost analysis.
  • Experience at a small or newly launched firm.
Compensation

$85,000–$110,000 base salary plus discretionary bonus.
